okay today's sermon was one of the best and most ministering so far, esp since its the exam period. In fact, its so good that im gonna put down the points here for those who missed it and for my sheep who couldn't make it yeah.
Keys to An Authentic Christian Life
Daniel 6: 3-10
1) Excellence in all responsibilities (v3 -4a)
Daniel's excellence caused him to stand head and shoulders over the rest. We should strive to have excellence in all areas of our lives, e.g. exams, punctuality. Having an excellent spirit.
Colossians 3: 23
We work not for men, but for God. The responsibility(studies too) is given to us by God. Strive for excellence.
Genesis 39: 5-6 (Joseph's spirit of excellence)
When we are working with a spirit of excellence, everything is bound to be successful!
The Enemy of Excellence : D.I.T. Syndrome.
It can cause us to fail our exams, drop out of school, land marriages in divorce.
D.I.T. Syndrome: Do It Tomorrow.
Clear your desk today! Clear your doubts and study today!(okay, this applies to me..)
This syndrome is a sign of laziness, and God doesn't like a lazy servant.
Excellence doesn't equal Perfection.
Excellence is our best effort with limited resources.
God will honour your spirit of excellence.
If excellence means improving from a F9 to a B4, that's excellence!
2) Personal Purity and Integrity (v4b -5)
Daniel had integrity despite living in a corrupt environment. Likewise, we can and should exercise integrity even though the world teaches otherwise. In fact, Daniel's only "problem" was that he loved God too much!(Daniel 6: 11)
Do we use vulgarities?
Do we cheat?
Do we dare to stand up for what is right, even if it means getting ourselves into a whole lot more trouble?
Romans 12: 2
Hold on to biblical values and integrity. Do not do something which we are afraid to be found out doing.
Proverbs 10: 9
3) A Consistent Walk With God (v10)
Daniel still prayed to God consistently. Daniel still found the time to pray and spend time with God regardless of the high official posts he holds. Likewise, we would certainly have time to spend time with God even during the exam period. The lack of time is never a reason, it's more of an excuse.
"When you're faced with a busy day, save yourself precious time, by skipping your devotions."
- Signed, Satan.
Do authentic people always win?
In the sight and eyes of God, Yes! (Daniel 6: 23-24)
Psalm 34: 10
During this exam period, why not let's have overflowing joy and faith in the Lord. When our friends are scratching their skins off andpulling off their hair in stress, why not let's find joy.
Let's be so overjoyed in this responsibility that non-Christians would turn and find it so ridiculous to be happy during the exam period.
Never say die.
Say, "Hallelujah!"
