it's wad i call a real spiritual refreshment. i really thank God for today's service. it's feeling of really letting the holy spirit take absolute control of our lifes, esp with the exams and stuff. picture this with me, praising to 'trading our sorrow' and 'My God'. the latter is one of my all-time fav praise song lah. very much due to the lyrics, really ministers esp to my life. then had 'Above All', 'How Great Is Our God' and 'Awesome God'. when i heard 'how great is our God' i was like, oh man, God definitely wants to speak and minister to me today. okay, sermon was excellent. i know i have been saying how good sermon is but take it from me, today is one of the bestest of bestest of best. as in u can literally feel the spirit moving into you, and the word of God getting ministered into your life. it was the part 4 of the 10 part series of 'God is closer than you think (the Tabernacle)'

Washed Up
Exodus 30: 17-21

If you know that God is with you, everything changes.

Without water, there can be no life. God wants us to be clean too!
Have clean hands, and a clean heart, as we come before the Lord.

God is using physical things of the earth, to teach us spiritual things.

1 Corinthians 15: 46

1) God reveals the Means of Cleansing. (v17 -18)

The bronze laver is placed between the altar of burnt offering and the holy place.

In the Bible, water symbolises the word of God. - Ephesians 5:26

The washing of water is also to symbolise that we need to clean our life up, with the word of God.

We need to use the right agent to clean our hearts.

We don't clean our mouths with detergent do we?

Clean our hearts with the word of God, not with Hollywood, Bollywood, or whatever.

We need the word of God! Not just the advise of friends, or Lime Magazine.

Psalm 119: 9

We receive Jesus into our lives only once. But we use the word of God to wash our hearts on a daily basis.

Untill and unless we know and allow the word of God to wash our hearts clean, how would we grow?

People tend to take other people's words so seriously, but seldom the word of God.

How well do we know the word of God?

What is our diet and hunger for the word of God today?

Allow the word of God to wash us clean.

2) God reinforces the Piority of Cleansing. (v19 -21a)

Two times here God reminded the people that they should wash themselves, so that 'they will not die'.

God wants to make sure that no sin can stop us from coming into His presence.

Psalm 24: 3-4

Hebrews 10: 22

True prayermeeting is not about the atmosphere, but the condition of our hearts.

Have full assurance in God.

Repent! Don't leave room in our hearts for the devil.

Walk right with God, clean ourselves up, tell the devil who trys to call you a 'hypocrite' to 'shut up'.

Do not take sin lightly.

Do not take the presence of God for granted. (this i found very true..)

John 14: 21

1 John 1: 9

One of the admirable ablities of God, is His readiness to forgive.

God hates sins, but loves sinners.

3) God Reiterates the lifestyle of Cleansing. (v21)

This is to be an eternal command.

1 Peter 2: 9

If we are a believer and a follower of God, we are a priest of God.

We ought to live a lifestyle of continual cleansing.

Don't practice accumulate repentance.

The moment we sin, repend quickly.

James 1: 22-25

"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it-he will be blessed in what he does." - James 1: 22-25 (emphasis added)

We think that when we listen to some teachings, we know.
'Don't deceive yourself!' Do what it says.

Don't just merely look into the mirror and know your face is dirty, wash it.

Don't be just a Bible believeing Christian, be a Bible obeying Christian.

Even the devil believes that Jesus is Christ, in fact he knows more about the Bible than you, for he has been around so much longer.

Are that areas in our lives that we have not committed and given up fully to God?

Do we hit a wall when we try to worship and adore God?

Let not the devil take control, but God.

well Shaun passed me the Soul Survivor CD as my birthday present. haha. like yay! celebrated Bob's birthday for him too. had caregroup evaluation, on the caregroup which i chaired for the first time. hmm.. got areas to improve lah.

had a fun time talking to Rayson, Jun Liang, Martin, and Shaun at Bugis burger king. i mean haha, shared with them the Sonicfest experience and the different concepts of the other religions. then crapped with them. haha. on my way back on the bus kinda told them bout the story about 'Bowling for Columbia' i heard. then kinda thankful that Martin asked about the Christian perspective on dinosaurs. so kinda told him where our stand is. it's always good to confirm your doubts yeah.

"Your grace has found me just as i am. And i'm nothing but alive in Your hands."

i really responded to altarcall today. i mean, it's really so amazing and wonderful when u commit your life into Jesus again. i did wad i had to do man, and the Holy Spirit really worked it's wonders in me. was already in tears by the time 'Give Us Clean Hands' was played. truely amazing.

i sincerely hope that all those schools everyone is ministering and working on would one day have their own caregroup and prayermeet, soon! haha. have the faith man.

"Forever God is faithful!!"
